The sixth artist that I would put in a exhibition is Paul Cezanne who was said to form the bridge from impressionism to cubism in the 20th century: He is very expressive with his marks he makes on the images. He is very expressive with his brush strokes. He is iconic with his images ofContinue reading “The sixth artist I would put in a exhibition is Paul Cezanne”

Start of a new painting using acrylic
Aquatint experiment
This was my first time using aquatint and it has opened allot of possibilities for me. Especially working on new materials like copper where I was using plastic before in the past. It is much smoother to use copper and there is less resistance. The perspex plastic though is quite good also.
Dry point of a underground tunnel in London
I think that this image is interesting because it portrays a part of London from a long time ago. I like the figurative elements of this picture I think they are very bold and clear. I like the fact it has a edge to it.
The fifth artist I would put in a exhibition
Paul Gauguin: He uses very vibrant colors that are very bright and harmonious against each other.
The fourth artist I would put in the exhibition
Henri Matisse: I like the bold figurative minimalist elements about his work. I like the fact that he became ill at one point in is late sixties and adapted to that and created a new medium. He started to do cut outs using paper and paint. I think what he has created is interesting becauseContinue reading “The fourth artist I would put in the exhibition”
Third artist I would put in a exhibition
The third artist I would put in a exhibition would be Joseph Turner: He is exceptional at handling colour (paint). His gestures are really interesting and coordinated. He understands composition very well. He often works from life , which makes his work much more realistic and expressive. I like the fact he focuses on stormsContinue reading “Third artist I would put in a exhibition”
Second artist that I would put in a exhibition
I would put Frank Stella in my exhibition because: I think his work stands out massively from other artists of his time period of abstract expressionism. He uses different materials that makes his work stand out against other artists as well. He uses bright colours and textures to quote he once said “WhatContinue reading “Second artist that I would put in a exhibition”
Life drawing layed out
We had a workshop on after new years and we had to make our own tools to paint with. I found it interesting working like Matisse in the sense that we had a brush on the end of a stick and was working from distance. It was cool to try because it made me thinkContinue reading “Life drawing layed out”
Dry point print reflections
This is a dry point print I did the other day it is of a part of Eastville park. I like the reflections on the trees. Took move forward it could be interesting to reverse the scale of the trees from fat to thin as opposed to thin to fat. It just doesn’t make sense.
